Employee Communication 05.20.2020

May 20, 2020

Dear GILLIG Family,

I would like to begin by thanking you for the incredible amount of hard work and dedication you have shown during this difficult time. Obviously, the COVID-19 pandemic is unlike anything we have seen before, and your commitment to keeping GILLIG running smoothly makes me proud to be a part of this great organization.

It was wonderful to see our Production Team back in action last week. I could feel the enthusiasm and pride as I walked the Plant floor. I also want to commend our teams who are working from home on their high level of productivity and communication—and for providing critical support to production. We had 33 buses successfully roll off the line last week—congratulations on an excellent start! Your efforts to follow our new protocols and safety measures have not gone unnoticed. I greatly appreciate your commitment to keeping yourself and the GILLIG Team safe and healthy. These extra precautions you are taking each day are protecting our well-being and livelihood.

Most of you who are currently working from home will continue to do so for at least another month and could likely be longer. Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis and will be handled through your manager. We will continue to monitor the situation before making further decisions, but for now the goal is to keep the office as lean as possible without sacrificing our goals and objectives.

Now that we are back in production and things are changing less rapidly, my weekly communication letters will be less frequent. I will begin communicating on an “as needed” basis. However, please know I am always available to you. You can contact me at CEO@gillig.com or stop by (social distanced). If you have HR-related questions, please contact Human Resources at HR@gillig.com.

I wish you and your loved ones a safe and healthy Memorial Day weekend.

Sincerely,

Derek Maunus

President & CEO
