Cummins and GILLIG announced the production of the 100th GILLIG battery-electric bus built since the two companies began partnering on the heavy-duty transit vehicle. (Earlier post.) The milestone bus will be delivered to Metro Transit in St. Louis, Missouri this month. The companies have collaborated since 2019 to bring reliable zero-emissions electric buses to communities across the country.

More than 50 transit agencies have already purchased or have orders for the electric bus. GILLIG is currently booking new bus orders into 2023.

GILLIG’s second-generation electric bus is built on the company’s proven Low Floor Platform. The companies developed a product which delivers industry-leading performance via the Cummins Battery Electric System, which features remote diagnostics and over-the-air connectivity backed by Cummins’ extensive support network of qualified technicians across the nation.
