Unprecedented levels of funding available for transit fleet modernization.

Livermore, CA—March 8, 2022 – Yesterday, Vice President Kamala Harris, U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Federal Transit Administration Administrator Nuria Fernandez, announced an unprecedented $1.1B in available competitive grant funding for its Low or No Emission (Low-No) Program, as well as approximately $372M in funding under the Grants for Bus and Bus Facilities (BBF) Program. The Low-No Program will competitively award funds towards the purchase or lease of zero-emission and low-emission transit buses and supporting facilities that use advanced technologies. The Bus and Bus Facilities Program will competitively award funds for projects meant to replace, rehabilitate, purchase or lease buses; bus-related equipment; and bus-related facilities.
